Little Getaways in Texas

Check out what's new on our website:  8/26 Hurricane Harrrrveyyyy (pronounce like a pirate)!  Pictures will be added to "projects" since we don't really have a category for it.  (There are also 2 new pics of Ladybird in the Puppies section.)

Harrison's Landing in Corpus offers a sailboat cruise.  Awesome afternoon on the water!  Captain Monte was fun but Captain Ron is the best!

Kreuz Market BBQ

No forks here!

Spring motorcycle trip.  1400+ miles in 4 days.
We fired up the BMW and took off with a rough sketch of a trip to see the northeast part of TX.  However, we hit some spring thunderstorms and had to adjust our plans, heading west of I-35.  These pictures are from east Texas in the lakes area north of Houston.  Other pictures are on the state parks page from Pedernales Falls State Park.

San Antonio December 2013

After a great dinner on the Riverwalk, we headed over to Howl At The Moon for a great time.

As seen on Man VS Food, breakfast at Lulu's.  This Cinnamon Roll lasted a week!

Buckhorn Saloon & Museum:

Then, we head a little west to see an awesome concert at Floore's.

Wurstfest 2013

This was such a great time, and we had a relaxing but fun day.  Got there at 11am, and left by 7pm when the crowds got serious.  It was a beautiful day, food and beer were amazing.  But, the best part was the entertainment!  Alex Meixner & his band were the best polka band imaginable. Find him  on YouTube.  Amazing.

Before leaving town, we stopped at Naeglins' Bakery, which is AMAZING.  We brought a box full of heaven back to Corpus.  http://naegelins.com/

It was also well worth a stop at the New Braunfels Smokehouse, where we filled a cooler with all sorts of sausage (at killer sale prices).  http://www.nbsmokehouse.com/

Labor Day By The Bay

Earl Dibbles Jr. stole the show!

We went for a ride to check out campgrounds.

Found this AWESOME BBQ place between Goliad & Victoria.  WOW!  Come hungry and leave happy.

9913 U.S. 59, Fannin, TX 77960
Exit for Fannin, cross the RR tracks, and it's on the right.
This place is air conditioned and the owner is very friendly.

A weekend in Galveston involved some fun sightseeing.

1877 Tall Ship Elissa  See this web site for some information about the ship http://www.galvestonhistory.org/1877_tall_ship_elissa.asp .   This one was really neat because volunteers were actively working on restoration activities while we were touring.  Somehow I forgot to take a picture of the exterior of the ship from a distance.  Oops.

The concrete shipwreck, SS Selma.  See this web site for some information about the ship: http://www.crystalbeach.com/selma.htm .
